2019 Texas Child Care Market Rate Survey
he Texas Institute for Child and Family Wellbeing (TXICFW) partnered with the Ray Marshall Center for the Study of Human Resources (RMC) to lead the 2019 Texas Child Care Market Rate Survey. Each year, the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) contracts the survey.
This report summarizes child care market rate data for Texas and each of its 28 local workforce development areas. In this 2019 Texas child care market rate report, market rates for child care are estimated using survey data and TWC administrative records data. The research team surveyed three types of child care facilities between October 2018 and May 2019: licensed child care centers, registered homes and licensed homes.
The 2019 Texas Child Care Market Rate Survey report is available in two reports. The main report contains all narrative descriptions of the survey and methods, statewide estimates of all findings, and the technical appendices. The second, supplemental report, contains over a hundred pages of tables that include all findings broken out by local board, tables that had previously been included in the main report.
