Available Position: Learning Technology Specialist
This position will be an essential part of the communications team and will assist with the planning, creation and maintenance of instructional tools, as well as formulate directions and strategies for implementing those tools for the institute’s on-line learning communities and learning resources related to The Texas Foster Care Health Initiative.
This is a grant-funded position and reassignment will be based upon performance, progress toward research goals and continuation of funding. Some travel required.
Designs and coordinates the development of materials to support on-line instructional programs, including on-line trainings materials such as video, audio resources/podcasts presentation material, and on-line forums and channels for learners.
Moderates and maintains on-line learning spaces and interfaces with content experts to build an interactive learning experience with users.
Assists in the development of the configuration of the on-line learning environment technology and performs regular maintenance of these technologies.
Assists, plans and conducts offerings such as workshops, seminars and one-on-one development sessions to enhance teaching and learning in collaboration with Texas Institute of Child & Family Well-being (TXICFW) staff and project partners.
Evaluates on-line learning space strategies and creates long range plans to identify, develop and implement innovative approaches in teaching and instructional design in collaboration with TXICFW staff and project partners.
Coordinates with communications team to curate original digital content for on-line learning communities and resource banks.
Assists with the planning and development of the institute’s communication’s strategic plan and editorial calendar and assists in the implementation of digital communication initiatives and goals.
Stays current and up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies and applications for on-line learning.
Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following: Instructional Media, Instructional Design, Multimedia Technologies, or a related field (Required). 3-5 years of experience in developing audio/visual material for learning purposes. Experience with managing on-line platforms for providing trainings.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Master’s Degree in one of the following: Instructional Media, Instructional Design, Multimedia Technologies, or a related field (Required). Experience working with youth and families in the foster care system or other vulnerable populations. Experience with collaborative, multi-site projects. Bilingual in Spanish.
This job requires a class “C” operator’s driver’s license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
May work around standard office conditions.
Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
Some travel required
M-F, Flexible between 8am-6pm.
