Coffee Breaks with TXICFW: Healing Through Connection: Walking alongside foster families

Healing through connectionThe Spark program at TXICFW is lucky to be connected to so many wonderful foster care support services and initiatives in our community. Over the last year, we have gotten to know Austin Angels, a program that works to provide support to youth in care by working with the entire family, including the foster family and birth parents to build the relationships that are essential to a child’s overall wellbeing. TXICFW has partnered with Austin Angels to help develop a rigorous program evaluation to assist with their program expansion. On this Coffee Breaks with TXICFW Facebook Live session we are hosting Susan Ramirez, CEO of Austin Angels to discuss our recent partnership, and concrete ways we can walk alongside foster families and support them.

Join us a for a live session on   May 30th, 2018    from   10:30-11   am  on our   Facebook Page!

About Our Guest:

Susan RamirezSusan Ramirez is the founder and CEO of Austin Angels, which she started in 2010 with the hope of improving the lives of every child in the foster care system. She also served as the keynote speaker at Austin Angels’ first annual fundraiser, “Dare To Dream,” which gathered hundreds of philanthropic leaders from the Central Texas area.
Susan has been recognized by local TV network KVUE and has also received a community award for the Top Five Who Care. Additionally, Susan was recognized as the Most Worthy Citizen by the Austin Board of Realtors, Woman Philanthropist of the Year by Texas Women in Business, and a “Woman to Watch” by Austin Woman Magazine.

Susan and her husband, Chris, have been together for 10 years and have two boys: Ryder (5) and Reid (1).  Susan has hopes of a daughter in the future and believes she will come from adoption through the foster care system.
