Join the Heart Galleries of Texas for our first webinar of 2026! Heart Galleries of Texas monthly webinars are provided to the child welfare community with the purpose to inform and bring awareness to current child welfare practices and efforts related to adoption and post permanency. These webinars are one way we stay connected and foster collaboration across communities working to support children and families.
This webinar aims to provide knowledge on navigating adoption-related conversations with children. Our trainers will explore strategies and develop skills to guide families and caregivers with these conversations.
Objectives:
- Learn how to initiate adoption-related conversations with children.
- Explore age-appropriate strategies for navigating adoption-related discussions.
- Develop skills to guide adoptive families in fostering an open and ongoing dialogue about adoption.
Presenters:
- David Daniels, Transition-Age Youth Programs Specialist, TACFS: David is the Transition-Age Youth Programs Specialist for Texas Alliance of Child and Family Services. David has worked directly with college students and young adults with lived experience as a motivational consultant and champion for foster care, helping them to navigate their emotional and academic journeys with the skills and resources they need.
- Chelsey Castro, Senior Permanency Specialist, TACFS: Chelsey is the Senior Permanency Resource Specialist for Texas Alliance of Child and Family Services. Chelsey is a social worker and has multiple years of experience working with youth most often overlooked for adoption including teenagers, children with special needs, and sibling groups as an adoption recruiter.
