Foster Angels of Central Texas (FACT) Scholars Program Evaluation

Project Overview

Foster Angels of Central Texas (FACT) contracted with the Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing (TXICFW) to evaluate the FACT Scholars program, which provides financial assistance, relational support, mentorship, and career guidance to students who have experienced foster care. The evaluation will assess the program’s progress toward key financial, relational, academic/professional, and life-skills outcomes. It will also clarify core program components to support future expansion.

Project Background

The goals of this evaluation are as follows:

  1. assess program effectiveness
  2. further define core program components to guide potential growth, and;
  3. develop an annual survey tool for ongoing outcomes tracking.

The evaluation will use a sequential mixed-methods design. TXICFW will first conduct interviews to gather in-depth qualitative feedback on program implementation, participant experiences, and perceived outcomes. Insights from these interviews will inform the development of an online survey designed to capture quantitative data for this evaluation while also serving as a sustainable tool for annual program monitoring. Findings will support continuous program improvement and inform future expansion of the Scholars program.
