Multigenerational Healing: Supporting parents & caregivers that have experienced trauma

Social workers, home visitors and other practitioners may recognize when a parent’s past traumatic experiences are connected to their current behaviors but can feel ill-prepared to work through trauma. In this workshop, we discuss tools that can be used to address this issue.
Training Objectives
- Participants will learn the relationship between trauma and resilience in long-term outcomes of mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
- Participants will learn about the possible effects of childhood trauma and help them intentionally choose a more protected path for their children.
- Participants will learn strategies for working with parents with traumatic history within various practice settings.
Audiences: professionals and caregivers
