OASH Mobilization for Health Award

The Healthy Youth Partnership (“HYP”) is a volunteer-led collaboration working to support youth-serving professionals in the Central Texas community. Through the Mobilization for Health: National Prevention Partnership Award, HYP increased the capacity of the Central Texas community to provide evidence-based sexual health programs to youth through two mechanisms: 1) direct programming to youth to support health promotion, risk reduction and healthier lifestyle choices utilizing a trauma-informed perspective; and 2) improvement on systems by providing professional development and collaboration opportunities for youth-serving professionals. The Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing (TXICFW) coordinated direct service implementation and conducted the evaluation of the direct service and professional development offerings.
Project Objectives:
- Establish and solidify the infrastructure needed for the project;
- Provide 200 youth evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention utilizing a trauma-informed perspective;
- Provide 1,700 youth serving professionals with education on healthy sexuality from a trauma-informed perspective; and
- Evaluate program offerings.
