Dr. Erika Grajeda is a Senior Research Associate at the Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing at UT Austin, where she conducts evidence-based research and program evaluations to enhance child welfare initiatives across Texas. Her academic career includes faculty positions at Texas A&M University-San Antonio and Southwestern University, where she taught and researched pivotal topics such as immigrant social movements, transnational feminism, and the ethics of qualitative research. A dedicated scholar and advocate, Dr. Grajeda bridges research, teaching, and community engagement to foster meaningful social change.
Dr. Erika Grajeda earned her PhD in Sociology and MA in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. Her postdoctoral training includes a Mellon Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship at Southwestern University and the Marilyn Jacobs Gittell Postdoctoral Fellowship in Urban Studies at the CUNY Graduate Center. These roles deepened her commitment to community-based research and critical inquiry, shaping her approach as both an educator and a researcher.
