Laura Marra

Laura Marra, MSSW, is the Director of Research and Evaluation at TXICFW. Laura oversees research design, implementation, and program evaluation for projects focused on child wellbeing, family resilience, adoption, permanency, and childcare. She is committed to building evidence-informed, culturally relevant programs and practices that promote equity in the community.

Laura has been involved with research since 2004 and has worked at TXICFW since 2012. She has experience conducting focus groups, implementing multi-site and longitudinal studies, developing fidelity and CQI measures, and analyzing complex datasets. Prior to working at the institute, Laura obtained her master’s in social work and completed a portfolio in applied statistical modeling at The University of Texas at Austin. She also has clinical experience providing supervised individual and group sessions to individuals diagnosed co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders at a state psychiatric hospital as well as conducting supervised Motivational-Interviewing (MI) based brief interventions to reduce alcohol use and injuries among at-risk patients at a level-1 trauma hospital.
