Texas TRIO project final evaluation report
Our team at the Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing led an evaluation of the Texas Trio Project on behalf of the Texas Education Agency. The team, comprised of Dr. Monica Faulkner, Dr. Beth Gerlach, and Laura Marra, MSSW, conducted a process evaluation, data sharing recommendations, training and technical assistance, and a survey of school district foster care liaisons.
The project sought to develop a state plan and protocol for education and foster care collaborations as well as implement a demonstration project in HISD. The project planned to strengthen court, education and child welfare connections to improve educational outcomes for foster youth.
