Welcome, Alina White, our new Texas Foster Youth Network Senior Outreach Program Coordinator

Alina White smiles outside

We recently caught up with Alina White, who joins TXICFW as Senior Outreach Program Coordinator, supporting our Texas Youth Foster Network.

Before joining UT Austin, Alina spent nearly 15 years at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, most recently at the State Office. Today, she serves as Senior Outreach Program Coordinator with the Texas Foster Youth Network (TXFYN), where she collaborates with stakeholders and community partners to build a statewide network of resources that truly meets the needs of transitioning youth.

TXICFW is excited to welcome Alina to the team!

Hi Alina! Tell us a little bit about your past work.

My work is about building a tangible network of people and resources that young people transitioning out of foster care in Texas can actually reach out and grab. I’m here to make sure that support is ready to meet them where they are.

What excites you or interests you most about the work you do?

What keeps me going is knowing that the right policy change, the right program design, or even just the right person in the right room can completely change the trajectory of a young person’s life. I’m energized by work that doesn’t just observe systems from the outside, it actually changes them.

What is something you hope to achieve in your career?

I hope to help build something that lasts, where transition-age youth with lived experience are consistently at the table where decisions about their lives are made.

I want to leave behind infrastructure, networks, and pathways that keep creating access for years to come.

What are some of your personal hobbies?

I love spending time outside! Walking nature trails in my neighborhood or spending time on my back porch. I love to travel, love to eat, and love spending time with my family and friends.
