What excites you or interests you most about the work you do?

Having an opportunity to transform child and family serving systems for the better.

What is something you hope to achieve in your career?

Making child and family serving systems more humane, just, and effective; promoting child-centered child welfare systems; helping eliminate institutional trauma experienced by children and families involved in the child protection system; moving child welfare practices from paternalism to partnership; changing child protection systems from a compliance-based, proceduralized environment to a relationship and change based environment; helping systems assess outcomes based on child and family’s report of just treatment as opposed to professional ideology.

What are some of your personal hobbies?

Being a dog mom to a precious Italian greyhound, reading, watching obscure foreign movies and TV

Anything else you want to add?

Super glad to be here working with like-minded people and amazing scholars who share my social work values and where everyone is dedicated to advancing compassionate practice and research with the most vulnerable children and families in Texas.
