Welcome to Swetha Nulu, our new Research Coordinator!

We sat down to learn more about our newest staff member, Swetha Nulu! She will oversee research coordination of the Project HOPES evaluation, a child maltreatment prevention program funded by Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI). Swetha comes to us from the Texas Health & Human Services Commission where she analyzed policies for the Medicaid and CHIP programs.

What excites or interests you most about your work?

I’m excited about collaborating with and learning from staff and program participants in the field, sharing research and analysis to a variety of audiences, particularly bridging the gap between research and practice and witnessing positive change in families and exploring innovative strategies to improve program outcomes.

What is something you hope to achieve in your career?

I hope to be able to present my research to a variety of audiences, publish in an academic journal, and lead my very own project on women’s healthcare access!

What are some of your personal hobbies?

I like staying active by running at Town Lake and going to High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) group classes, hiking and swimming with my dog Tuna, keeping up with Austin’s ever-changing food scene, and traveling to cities around the world.

We are excited to have Swetha on the team and look forward to working with her! To learn more about Swetha visit her staff profile here.
