Welcome to Alix Mammina, our new Communications Specialist!
We recently caught up with Alix Mammina, one of our newest TXICFW team members, to learn a bit more about her! As a Communications Specialist, Alix develops and implements communications and digital engagement strategies to elevate the Institute’s research. We are so excited to have her on the team!
Hi Alix! Tell us a little bit about what you were doing before joining the TXICFW team.
After college and before joining TXICFW, I worked alongside community advocates across New Jersey to advance legislation that moved away from a carceral response to sexual violence and expanded pathways to healing and justice for survivors. This work gave me a first-hand look at how translating research into strategic—and accessible—messaging can cause real change.
What excites you or interests you most about the work you do?
I love the challenge of figuring out how to make research resonate with practitioners and community members. I’m looking forward to doing deep dives into new research areas and promoting the Institute’s work to a wider audience.
What is something you hope to achieve in your career?
I want to play a part in building community-based networks of care that prevent harm and push for transformative change.
What are some of your personal hobbies?
I like to hike, explore art museums, and watch horror movies in my spare time.
