Corey Granstrand, Research Operations CoordinatorWe recently chatted with Corey Granstrand, one of our newest TXICFW team members, to learn a bit more about him! Corey is the Research Operations Coordinator for the institute, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him on board.

Hi Corey! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I received my culinary arts degree from the Le Cordon Bleu Texas Culinary Academy in 2005.  I have 15 years of experience in restaurant management, including five years as a human resource director, staff accountant, office manager, and two years as a chef.

What excites you or interests you most about the work you do?

I am excited to be part of a team that puts research into practice to positively impact the lives of children and families in need. I look forward to learning more about this meaningful work, and know that it will motivate me as I strive to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of operations at the Institute. I also am interested in learning more about the foster care system.

What is something you hope to achieve in your career?

I am interested to see where this new career path will lead me and hope to further pursue my education in accounting.

What are your personal hobbies?

I enjoy playing guitar, cooking, reading, practicing tai chi, meditating, traveling, and spending time with my family.
