Welcome to Stephanie Holmes, LMSW, our new Program Specialist!

Stephanie Holmes LMSWWe recently sat down with Stephanie Holmes, LMSW, our newest TXICFW team member, to learn a bit more about her! Stephanie is our Program Specialist for the new Children with Special Healthcare Needs (CSHCN) Project. Her work over the last 16+ years has been devoted to the public child welfare system, with a primary focus on adoption, foster care, child placement, and legislative analysis & implementation. We are so happy to have her join us!

Hi, Stephanie! Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I began my child welfare career in 2003 working at a small private adoption agency. It was there I discovered my love of social work and decided to pursue graduate school. My interests and experience grew over time to include the public child welfare arena, particularly policy and program development.

What excites you or interests you most about the work you do?

The chance to work directly with children & families and the professionals who serve them, and then develop that experience into meaningful change on a systemic level.

What is something you hope to achieve in your career?

I am always interested in learning, growing, and training. I simply want to continue seeing better outcomes for children and families in all things related to child welfare, and I expect that to be the case with the amazing team here at TXICFW!

What are some of your personal hobbies?

I love Pilates, non-fiction podcasts, documentaries, and my community of friends and family. I also sing in a community-based non-profit choir whose mission is to bring music and healing to the elderly and confined.
