TXICFW believes there is a need to better understand the impact of traumatic experiences while also honoring the need for safety, security and healing of trauma survivors in the primary care setting. Adverse Child Experiences (ACEs) need to be addressed by creating wraparound services by providing interprofessional training, integrating healthcare settings, developing trauma screens and targeted interventions. TXICFW is committed to translating the ACEs body of research to integrate trauma-informed practice into pediatric healthcare systems in order to support new and expectant parents to choose a more protected path for their children.
